Let’s dive into part three of my back to school DIY series! I designed these super simple and themed free printable lunchbox notes for kids so you can print them out and write notes on them for your school aged kiddos! I wanted to come up with a fun way to give my daughter encouragement and love during her school day! I hope your kids love these as much as mine does!
There is something so special about getting a handwritten note from your parent or caregiver when you are at school – I remember getting them from time to time and feeling really happy!

There are some cute printable pre-written notes on Etsy and other blogs, but I like the idea of actually writing the note myself…plus she cannot read yet so I might do drawings instead. I think it is more interesting and fun that these notes are themed depending on what time of year/what they might be learning about in school instead of a plain piece of paper (which there is nothing wrong with btw)!

For each month of the school year I picked a common theme and did a super simple outline of that thing. Here are my themes:
- August – School Bus
- September – Leaf
- October – Bat
- November – Pumpkin
- December – Present
- January – Snowflake
- February – Heart
- March – Butterfly
- April – Umbrella
- May – Flower
- June – Ice Cream

To print at home:
I have one PDF per month/theme with a few of each shape on the page. Each PDF is 8.5″ x 11″ in size so they can be easily printed at home. You can download my PDFs and print as many copies as you like out on 8.5″ x 11″ colored construction paper. The shapes are pretty simple so you can cut them out by hand. For my photos, I cut them out by hand and it was pretty easy.
Here is a link to colored construction paper that is 8.5 x 11.

Cricut:
If you have a Cricut, you can download my JPEGs (not the PDFs) and upload them into the Cricut design space so your Cricut can cut a bunch out for you.
For anyone who is newer to the Cricut, let me walk you through how you would do this.
Open your Cricut Design Space application.
Click “New Project”
Click “Upload” on the left hand menu
Click “Upload Image” on the left

Browse for the jpeg you want to use. Click “Simple” and “Continue”.

Click on everything outside of the shape and click “Continue”.

Click “Cut Image” on the left and then “Upload”.

Click on the recently uploaded graphic and click “Insert Image”.

Now that the graphic is inserted you can resize it and you can copy and paste it so your Cricut can print out a bunch at once!
That is it! Comment below on your favorite one! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Stay tuned for the grand finale of my back to school series. I promise it will be a show stopper!
